Smoke from the nearby wild fires may have kept some people away...
This doorway was never open before...

May 1st, 2002 is the 55th anniversary of Chinese occupation of Inner (Southern) Mongolia. The Inner Mongolian People's Party, through its representative Jack Churchward, expresses again the Party's opposition to the use of Mongolian cultural entities at the Splendid China park. Southern Mongolia is a nation under foreign occupation by the Chinese government. Our lands have been taken away by force, our unique nomadic lifestyle and culture have been forever altered and our natural environment has been destroyed through economic exploitation. Mongolian cultural icons being exhibited here are not a part of China or Chinese civilization but do serve the political agenda of the Communist regime occupying our country. We call on all freedom loving people everywhere to join with us in condemning the management of the Splendid China park and demand that they remove all references to Mongolian cultural displays.
