To commemorate the 5th anniversary of the opening of the Chinese Communist government owned and operated propaganda theme known as Florida Splendid China in Kissimmee, representatives of Citizens Against Communist Chinese Propaganda and the International Taklamakan Uighur Human Rights Association and others will be holding a rally in front of the main gate of Florida Splendid China beginning at noon on the 19th of December 1998.

As shown in "The Case Against Florida Splendid China" (case.html), the theme park is an agent of the People's Republic of China, masquerading as a legitimate entertainment attraction and engaged in unlawful acts, primarily, the wholesale distribution of Chinese Communist Party propaganda in order to change American public opinion. Copies have been received by the US Justice Department and the investigation focuses on their criminal behavior of failing to register as agents of a foreign government as required by the Foreign Agent Registration Act. We have further requested that an investigation be held into the role of Florida Splendid China's parent company, China Travel Services Ltd (HK), who are partners with ATP Satellite and other 'Redchip" stock holdings, concerning their interest and involvement with the Lippo Group and campaign finance irregularities and influence peddaling.

In addition to calling attention to Florida Splendid China's criminal activities, we also wish to call attention to the issue of political prisoners being held by the People's Republic of China, another demonstration of the Chinese government's contempt for the rule of law. In direct contradiction of the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights, of which the People's Republic of China is a signatory, the Chinese government maintains prison camps of 'prisoners of concience', where the only crime is to disagree with the all-powerful Chinese Communist Party.

We call on our elected and appointed officials to take strong action in the following cases:

• Mr. Hada
  Hada, a native Mongol from the Khorchin Right Wing Front Banner of Inner Mongolia, 42 years old, was the owner of the "Mongolian Academic Bookstore" in Hohhot. In 1980's and early 90's, he had been an active member of the underground organizations of the Mongols to preserve the religious and cultural heritage of the Mongols which have been facing great destruction ever since the China's takeover of Inner Mongolia. In May 1992, Mr. Hada and other Mongols set up the Southern Mongolian Democracy Alliance (SMDA) and he had been the Chairman of the SMDA until he was arrested by the Chinese government in Dec. 1995. After being arbitrarily detained by the Chinese government for a year without trial, he was charged of having committed the crime to separate the country and was sentenced to 15 years in jail in Dec. 1996.

• Gedhun Choekyi Nyima (The 10th Panchen Lama)
  On May 14, 1995, The Dalai Lama, recognized Gendhun Choekyi Nyima as the 11th Panchen Lama of Tibet. This extremely important decision by His Holiness culminated a six year, difficult and thorough process of searching for the incarnation of The 10th Panchen Lama. Gendun Choekyi Nyima is currently a nine year-old boy from a semi-pastoralist family that, at one time, lived in the Lhari District in Kham, Tibet. Gendhun Choekyi Nyima is considered the youngest political prisoner in the world. On April 25th, 1998, Gendhun Choekyi Nyima celebrated His 9th Birthday. Apparently, on May 17, 1995 Gendhun Choekyi Nyima, His family, and the Abbott, Chadrel Rinpoche (Cha Tsa Chagbazeling) and His Secretary, who both led the search party for this incarnate were taken by the People's Republic of China (PRC) to Beijing. Thus, these persons are now political prisoners of the Chinese Government. As of today, all of these persons are still missing and there has been no indication that they are alive. On May 17, 1999, it will be 4 years since Gendhun Choekyi Nyima was illegally abducted.

• Kajikhumar Shabdan (Hajihumaer)
  In the so-called Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, an ethnic Kazakh writer and poet in his seventies, was detained in July 1987 and later sentenced to 15 years in prison, reportedly for "espionage".

Specifically, we are protesting the inclusion of the Potala Palace that was built by the Tibetan people and served as the home of successive Dalai Lamas since 1645, the Id Gah Mosque and Tomb of Abakh Hoja which serve as cultural icons of the people of Eastern Turkestan and the Mausoleum of Genghis Khan and the Mongolian Yurt exhibit which attempt to add a Chinese name to the Southern Mongolian people.
