Citizens Against Communist Chinese Propaganda
announce a protest demonstration for the Florida Splendid China theme park for
12 noon on Sunday, March 10, 1996.
Press Release
Citizens Against Communist Chinese Propaganda
This demonstration is being held to call attention to the plight of the Tibetan
people on the anniversary of the failed 1959 Tibetan Uprising. On this day,
thirty-seven years ago, thousands of Tibetans formed a wall in advance of
advancing Communist People' s Liberation Army (PLA) troops to protect the
14th Dalai Lama. Days later, these same army troops bombarded the Potala
Palace, the home of the Dalai Lama and an exhibit at the Splendid China theme
park, which is owned, operated, and controlled by the People's Republic of
China and the Chinese Communist Party.
We reject the implication that Tibetans are Chinese as demonstrated by the
Potala Palace exhibit. We also reject the other minority exhibits as
part of the same propaganda plan that is attempting to white-wash the Peoples
Republic of China's role in the suppression of the minority peoples.
We stand ready to negotiate with the management of the theme park, but all of
our correspondence has gone unanswered.
Citizens Against Communist Chinese Propaganda is a group of interested
individuals devoted to the non-violent and legal removal of religious and
minority exhibits from the Communist Chinese government owned and controlled
theme park known as Florida Splendid China in Kissimmee, Fla.
