Dear Chairman Yang,
We are enclosing a copy of the recently released republished book
entitled "Genghis Khan: World Conqueror" by Leo DeHartog. The
documented evidence contained therein contradicts the information
presented by the Florida Splendid China theme park and matches the
mainstream understanding of the life of Genghis Khan. For instance,
your literature states the following:
Genghis Khan was the founder of the Yuan Dynasty.
Actually, the Mongol Yuan Dynasty was formed by his grandson in 1279.
Genghis Khan died in 1227.
Genghis Khan's domain extended to mid-Asia and south Russia.
Actually, he conquered the northern Chinese and Persian empires and
all of Central Asia. At the time, his conquests included half the
known world. His descendants incorporated the remainder of Asia and
extended the Mongol empire to include parts of western Europe.
Genghis Khan's mortal remains were kept in a coffin and transported
around until the People's Republic of China appropriated funds and
built the "Mausoleum of Genghis Khan."
The Great Khan and World Conqueror was buried in the traditional
Mongol custom with large numbers of horses driven over the grave to
conceal it. The place is documented as the sacred mountain of Burqan
Qaldur, exact whereabouts, unknown.
These are just a few of the inconsistencies with the version of
history that the Florida Splendid China theme park insists is
correct. These are inaccuracies that distort the truth about Genghis
Khan, his descendants and all the Mongolian people. We will not
comment about your motivation for these inaccuracies, but simply ask
that you meet with concerned citizens and discuss the differences
with us.
As in the past, our organization will be conducting a commemoration
of the Communist Chinese takeover of Inner Mongolia at the main gate
of Florida Splendid China on April 29, 2000 beginning at noon.
We remain willing to cancel our activities, if you are willing to
participate in some substantial discussion of our concerns.
Thank you for your time and attention,
Jack Churchward
